Terms of Use and Licence
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms cover the Genius Accounting Solutions website and the software connections GAS uses for clients, including GAS Bridge for QuickBooks (together, the "Connector"). They are made by Genius Accounting Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 81 682 807 978), called "GAS", "we" or "us". By connecting the Connector to your accounting file, you agree to these terms.
1. What the Connector is
The Connector is a private link that GAS uses to read a client's accounting file so GAS can deliver the work in its engagement letter. It is not sold or offered to the public. Only GAS runs it, on GAS-controlled computers.
2. Licence
When you approve the connection, you let GAS read your file through the Connector for as long as the connection stays on. GAS keeps all rights in the Connector. You do not need to install anything.
3. Read-only
GAS Bridge for QuickBooks only reads data. It cannot create, change or delete anything in your QuickBooks file. If GAS ever wants to add a feature that writes to your file, we will ask you first and get your written agreement.
4. Your data
Your data stays yours. We handle it as our Privacy Policy describes. Your engagement letter with GAS sits above these terms. If the two disagree, the engagement letter wins.
5. Turning it off
You can disconnect the Connector at any time from your accounting system's app settings. GAS stops reading your file at once. Disconnecting does not delete any data in your file. See how to disconnect.
6. Third-party systems
The Connector relies on systems run by others, such as Intuit QuickBooks Online and Anthropic's Claude. GAS is not responsible if those systems are down, change, or stop offering a feature.
7. Accuracy and liability
A qualified accountant at GAS reviews every output before it is final. Even so, the Connector is provided "as is". Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, GAS's liability for anything to do with the Connector or this website is limited to the amount set out in your engagement letter, or, if there is none, to re-supplying the service. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be removed.
8. The website
Content on this website is general information, not advice for your situation. Please talk to us before acting on it.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to a connected client, we will tell you.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
